Downtown Artist Cellar in downtown Malone is a dynamic space where art, wellness, and community come together. Since opening in 2017, this artist-led, woman-owned gallery has become a cornerstone for creativity in the area. The venue features two galleries and an Artisan Shop, showcasing rotating exhibits from local, regional, and visiting artists. Visitors can explore solo and group shows across painting, sculpture, mixed media, and photography, while the shop offers handmade ceramics, jewelry, prints, and original artworks perfect for collecting or gifting.
DAC is also home to The Thrive Project, a nonprofit initiative focused on making art accessible to everyone. Guests can participate in hands-on art workshops led by professional artists, including painting, drawing, and mixed media sessions that encourage experimentation and skill building. Mindful Making classes combine creativity with mindfulness, helping participants slow down, focus, and reflect through art. Creative Wellness offerings include sound baths, drum circles, expressive movement, and other sessions that use creativity as a path to relaxation, connection, and personal growth.
For young people, Open Studio programs provide mentorship, collaboration, and guided exploration, ensuring that art is accessible and engaging. With wellness classes, poetry readings, and community gatherings year-round, Downtown Artist Cellar invites visitors to experience, create, and connect with the vibrant creative life of Malone.
