Dewey Mountain Recreation Center features 5.5 miles of singletrack mountain bike trails, which happily co-exist with roughly 7.5 miles of XC ski trails. Difficulty ranges from cruiser to hardcore as riders ascend about 450 vertical feet to the summit.
Dewey Mountain is owned by the Town of Harrietstown and operated by Adirondack Lakes and Trails Outfitters, with support from the Dewey Mountain Friends.
How to get there
Drive south out of Saranac Lake on NYS Rt 3. Look for the sign for Dewey Mountain Recreation Center on the left. Park and ride through the lodge breezeway. The large kiosk and map are at the base.
Mountain biking
There are a variety of stacked trails, meaning they get more difficult the farther you venture from the parking area.
