This paddling route begins on Lower Saranac Lake and takes you into a quiet creek, where you can observe wildlife. It's all flatwater, and there are no portages.

Getting there

The put-in is in Ampersand Bay, off of Bayside Drive. It is next door to the Ampersand Bay Resort. Public parking is available.

Paddling

Put in at the Ampersand Bay access. You will notice the remains of the historic Ampersand Hotel to your right. Paddle across the bay to Camp Guggenheim, which is privately owned and operated as a children’s camp. As you pass the beach of Camp Guggenheim, turn to the right to enter Fish Creek. Paddle up the creek and back. You will eventually come to a dead end.
