Come for the fishing, birding, or picnicking, but stay for the scenic beauty! The James A. Latour Picnic & Recreation Area is located just outside of town next to the Lake Colby Beach, and is perfect for relaxing during a lunch break or for a few hours in the evening.

How to get there

From downtown Saranac Lake, drive north on Route 86 toward Paul Smiths. The park is just outside of town, across the street from the Adirondack Medical Center.

About the park

There are picnic tables and shoreline access for fishing. This is also a great place to watch the sunset!
