Directions to Access Points

From the intersection of Route 86 and Route 30 in Paul Smiths, turn right to follow Route 30 north, then take an immediate left onto Keese Mill Road. Continue to the Black Pond access parking on the right, directly across the road from the St. Regis Mountain trailhead parking area.

Shoreline Fishing

Shoreline fishing is what you have, and easy casting limits that to a few areas. The pond is actually quite deep in the center, and this is the best fishing location, so cast out as far as you can. The narrow outlet to Black Pond and the cool waters of the inlet tend to hold trout, but not of any significant size.
