Traveling along NY 30 between Malone and Paul Smiths, just north of the NY 458 junction, you'll come across Meacham Lake State Park. Look for the parking area at the southern tip of the lake, just before the highway crosses the East Branch of the St. Regis River. Beside the lot, there’s a small retaining dam marking the lake’s outlet and the start of the East Branch. Directly across the road, you’ll find a beautiful slide-style waterfall that flows down in three or four gentle tiers—a peaceful and scenic roadside stop.
