How to get there

Take Route 11B from Malone, heading west. In Dickinson, turn south onto Doug Smith Road and then east onto Cemetery Road.

Hiking

This is an amazing tumble of river rocks with a hiking path alongside the most scenic parts. Take care, as the rocks here can be slippery.

This road starts out paved, but by the 3.1-mile point, it is unpaved. Turn south (right) at the T intersection with Conservation Road. It is 0.8 miles to the falls, where there are places to park.

There are two primitive campsites along the way.

Swimming

At the namesake Split Rock is the deepest and most tranquil part of the river, which is where the swimming hole is located.
